CHILDREN’S LAKE TO BE DRAWN DOWN

Boiling Springs, PA – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will begin lowering the water level at Children’s Lake in Cumberland County on October 1. The water level will be drawn down 3 feet to allow a weir to be constructed in the old mill race. The mill race is located on the southwest end of the lake below the arched bridge. While the lake is lowered, additional grounds improvements will be completed.

Children’s Lake is a 6-acre Fish and Boat Commission impoundment located in historic Boiling Springs, Pa. Historic structures from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, such as a gristmill, still line the lakeshore. The Lake and its surrounding lands provide fishing, boating, hiking and other recreational opportunities to visitors and local residents.

The mission of the Fish and Boat Commission is to protect, conserve, and enhance the Commonwealth’s aquatic resources and provide fishing and boating opportunities. For more information about fishing and boating in Pennsylvania, please visit our website at http://www.fishandboat.com.
